Development Variance Permits

Development Variance Permits

A Development Variance Permit is issued by Council, providing for a variance of bylaw requirements for your project. Land use, density and floodplain requirements cannot be varied. Any other requirement of the Zoning, Subdivision or Sign bylaws may be varied if Council feels that the reasons for the variation are appropriate. The brochure - A Guide to Development Variance Permits gives more information.

If you are considering to apply for a Development Variance Permit please contact Planning staff to discuss your ideas before making an application.
