Property Taxes

Property Taxes Are Due the First Working Day After July 1st.

To avoid a penalty, property tax payments and properly completed applications for the Home Owner Grant (HOG), must be received on or before the property tax due date, there are no exceptions for late payments.

You can claim your Home Owner Grant online using the PIN number on your Property Tax Notice (click on link to the right).

All Property Tax Notices are mailed in the last week of May.  Property owners who have not received their tax notice by the second week of June should contact the Tax Department at 604-885-1986 or by email to taxinfo@sechelt.ca.

To help ensure you receive your Property Taxation Notice without delay, please make sure that the District has your correct mailing address.  If ownership of property changes in May or June 2011, you must provide documentation to the District Office.

Property owners are responsible for payment of their annual property taxes by the due date to avoid a penalty, whether or not they receive a Property Tax Notice.
