Council and Community Relations

The District of Sechelt endeavors to deliver local government programs and decisions in an open and transparent manner, to help ensure all in our community have the opportunity to be heard and to access District services.

Every year, the District hosts Open Houses, Public Information Meetings, consultations and workshops on a variety of issues.  We use the input received at these events to provide Council with information on the views expressed by our residents to help them make decisions of the direction of District programs and policies. Watch the District Calendar, the bi-weekly Municipal Memo in The Coast Reporter and the home page of our website for details on public input opportunities.  Information on these opportunities are also announced on CKAY-FM radio.  Feel free to contact the Coordinator of Council and Community Relations for more information or if you have questions or concerns to share.

If you would like to invite Sechelt Mayor and Council to an event your community groups is hosting,  the Coordinator of Council and Community Relations will be happy to work with you to arrange for the attendance of a Council representative or representatives.
