New Community Associations Policy

Sechelt, BC – A new Community Associations Policy was approved by Council at the October 3, 2018 Regular Council meeting.  The new policy makes it easier for community groups to become Community Associations registered with the District of Sechelt.  Becoming a registered Community Association helps identify community groups to Council and may make it easier for the groups to stay up to date and provide input on District activities.

Sechelt is committed to improving communication with the community so everyone has the opportunity to contribute to our overall success.  Providing the opportunity for Community Associations to be included in our public engagement processes enhances our ability to meet the needs of the community. Mayor Milne said, “We don’t need to divide the community up into places with boundaries and barriers, which can exclude others. With this new policy we can have representation from different groups and ensure that all community interests are heard.”
